Toddlers

Their world is discovered through experiences. The classroom is a place for exploration and play. Each day the children are introduced to colors, shapes, numbers and letters through hands on activities designed to develop each child’s cognitive and physical skills. The children are offered opportunities to learn and practice newly acquired skills through hands-on involvement. Art, music and dancing are also used to embed new skills and knowledge, as well as for enjoyment and fun.

As with all classes, Teachers provide secure online Daily Reports for parents on activities, naps, toileting, feeding and developmental progress linked to the Florida Early Learning Development Standards.

Two’s

Print and language are integrated into every learning center and the children are offered many opportunities to experience social, emotional and physical growth through interactions with each other and their teachers. Math readiness, science, creative expression, literature and letter recognition are key components of the curriculum. The children are encouraged through experiences in and out of the classroom and their learning begins with awareness, discovery and inquiry.

As with all classes, Teachers provide secure online Daily Reports for parents on activities, naps, toileting, feeding and developmental progress linked to the Florida Early Learning Development Standards.

Three’s

During this important year children are encouraged to become critical thinkers and problem solvers as they grow socially and emotionally in a supportive atmosphere. Our print-rich environment provides the language, literacy, math, science and writing skills needed to be successful as they approach VPK. We utilize a thematic approach that values the interests of the children. We recognize that children learn best when they are highly interested in the subject matter and  we value and incorporate the ideas our experienced teachers bring to their classroom.

As with all classes, Teachers provide secure online Daily Reports for parents on activities, naps, toileting, feeding and developmental progress linked to the Florida Early Learning Development Standards.

Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten

Florida VPK has been developed to assure that every child has the strong educational foundation they need to be ready for Kindergarten. Early literacy skills are essential for children becoming successful readers and writers.  The VPK curriculum must be developmentally appropriate and the class size should be small enough to allow children, their families and their teachers to build close relationships.

One World Preschools offers a VPK Program that is rich in language and literacy. We are a Gold Seal Quality Care Program which acknowledges our nationally recognized APPLE accreditation.  Our high standards reflect quality in the level of care and supervision we bring to our children.

Free VPK provides 540 instructional hours per school year. We have extended the traditional 9.00am -12.00 day by one hour so that our VPK class will be served lunch followed by enrichment activities. Dismissal will be at 1:00pm.

Our Center is open at 7am and there is no additional charge for VPK children brought to Early Care between 7 and 9am. Breakfast will be provided for Early Care VPK children, again at no extra charge.

However, After Care beyond 1.00pm will incur additional charges.

One World Preschools Fees:

One World Preschools accepts infants and children from birth through VPK.

There is a $50.00 Registration Fee for all services, except VPK and the School Readiness program. However, after 4 weeks attendance the Registration Fee is wholly refunded by being deducted from the fifth weeks fee.

One World Preschools welcomes children supported by the Early Learning Coalition School Readiness program. If you are unaware of this assistance program please speak to the Director and/or Manager, or visit www.elcbroward.org.

Preschool Curriculum

One World Preschools seeks to take the best from various approaches, to form curricula best suited to different ages, abilities and needs of individual children.

One World Preschools embraces the Reggio Emilia philosophy, allowing children to explore their world, learning through experiences – touching, moving, listening and observing, with endless opportunities to express themselves and share their thoughts and ideas. At the center of the Reggio Emilia philosophy is a belief in the natural development of children.

One World Preschools follows the Learn Every Day Curriculum, providing a child centred approach based on self-directed activities, hands on learning and collaborative play, with children making creative choices and learning through their own experiences.

Minicamp

Minicamps are preschool care and education within summer, winter and spring holiday seasons. The same curricula and standard of care are provided during these periods.

All children, from birth through first Graders, are welcome at Minicamps.

Minicamps are charged at the weekly rates detailed above.
